Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry:  “In a match that was error-filled on both sides, it was nice to see our guys shake off the mistakes, re-focus and put up a fight. We were down in every set, but when we served tough, it kept them from running us through the middle as much. The defense we played was a real highlight – Drake DeBoer, libero Sammy Adkisson and defensive specialist Ryan Pristas made some digs to keep us in rallies when the block wasn’t there and our attacking was soft. Derrick Jones stepped up his defense in the back row. That’s what we’re going to need while the offense gets in tune.”
